What this is worth, honestly
A warrant canary is a weak instrument and we would rather say so than let it do more work than it can carry. Its legal force is untested, and it protects nothing on its own. The reason it matters here is narrower: we hold no decryption keys, so there is no customer footage in our possession to compel. The canary tracks whether anyone has tried. The architecture is what makes trying pointless.
